Wednesday, March 13 – Regulatory and Non-Regulatory Medical Writing for Technical Writers

Are you a technical writer who wants to broaden your horizons? One area to consider is medical writing.

Medical writing represents an important subclass of technical writing that can be roughly divided into either regulatory or non-regulatory medical writing.

The barrier to entry into the field is high, particularly on the regulatory side, but so is demand for experienced medical writers, making this one of the most lucrative areas of technical writing for those with the requisite skills and background.

In this talk, I will explain the work flows and typical document types of both regulatory and non-regulatory medical writing, as well as strategies for breaking into either area.

Don’t forget to buy tickets.

About the speaker:

Dennis Bittner, PhD, spent 20 years in the life science tools market at a variety of managerial positions (marketing, sales, training, technical support) before transitioning in 2013 to a new career in medical writing as an individual contributor. Dennis earned a BS in Biology at UCLA and a PhD from the Dept of Biological Chemistry in the UCLA School of Medicine focused on developmental biology.
